Noobtastic14 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 if you've seen my build log you'll know i just finished running all the wires under the hood. 2 alts 2 bats and a lot of 0ga i want to double check with the experts as to how efficient the wiring is and if i need to change anything. I'll start with the alts I used the suspension strut bolt as my main grounding point. Blue is Alt 1 Red is Alt 2 and the lil silver is a left over engine ground i haven't gotten around to pulling. I used the Engine anchor bolts for grounds, and chained the front alt ground with the engine (then to strut) so i could ground both in one run Now for the bats. I wired all the grounds like a triangle, grounding each (-) to the opposite suspension strut point then connecting each (-) together. I figure path of least resistance will win, might as well be safe. Alt 1 (70A) is wired to the front bat that the stock electrical is wired on, then the 110A is wired to the back bat and the run to the back pulls from bat 2 (bats wired in parallel of course) I went with the mentality that you cant have to much wire, or to many connections so went all out. Now, is there something i missed or something that i can do to improve on the foundation i already have? -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. jmsonoma03 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 im not a expert but it looks good.......................but where are the fuses. do you have a 12v jumper between the 2 alts?
Noobtastic14 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 no their each wired to a bat- not together. and i'm looking at circuit breakers now- unfortunately i don't have the handful of fuse blocks i once did i'm fired on the 4th. so hopefully the most xmas job market will be kind to me -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. jmsonoma03 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 cool i read something the other day saying that both alts should be wired together but since you have both batts up front it should be fine.
Noobtastic14 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 koo voltage is amazing so at least it works -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Sand it off, Paint it on. uhoh_45 said: dont be a pussy P give the jeep to drew
Boon Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 If I were you I would put some silicon goo or paint on those suspension strut bolts where you sanded the paint down. Where I come from if you get rust in the suspension tower they take your car off the road. It's unlikely but better safe than sorry 10.x volts fo' life!
Noobtastic14 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 I'm in cali- what rust? -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Sand it off, Paint it on. uhoh_45 said: dont be a pussy P give the jeep to drew

LMK
Noobtastic14 Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 looks like i will need at least 3 0ga, 4 if i do it right. I'll pick some up soon- pointless to fuse one side of the line when the other bat can fuck shit up when the fuse pops -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional.
