The Alpine specs are already tuned to 33 hz, so I think I'm just going with them.  I'll get the 2000w if I can afford the extra $70, I'm not totally sure of my budget yet, I have to sell my car first.

bxi 2005 or 2006... 900w each ain't gonna hurt the R's..

Ok, this is straight from the Alpine website....I don't know why people think that Type-R's can handle double or triple their RMS power daily. They can't. If you're gonna put that much power to them, you had better know what you're doing....cause in a daily set-up, they ain't gonna last very long at all. But if you wanna try that much power daily, have fun buying new subs in a week.

Power Handling Capacity (RMS): 500W

Yea I was taking into account the fact that the bxi is overrated, which is why i planned on the 1600 originally.

I'm thinking about tuning the r's a lil lower (~28hz) and putting in 2 8's for midbass, and have those crossed over between ~65 and ~110 hz.

So my 2 new questions are:

1.  Do those x-over settings seem like theyd work/sound good?

2.  What should i go with for the 8's?  I'm thinking about RE, but I'm completely open to suggestions.

Thanks for your help guys! I want to get my system done properly this time, so I'm doing plenty of planning, and alteration to those plans.

K, sorry if these posts are irritating, let me know if they are or not, but heres my "final" list of parts.

Hifonics BXi 1606D Sub Amp (1600 watts @ 1 ohm)

(2x) Alpine SWR-1242 D Subs (d4 ohm)

Hifonics ZXi 6406 (55 watts x4 @ 4 ohms, 110 x4 @ 2)

MB Quart RVF 216 Components (these are a new addition, opinions please!)

Alpine SPR-17LP Rear Speakers

The speaker sizes will change according to what car I end up with, I'll know in about a week.

I'm running 1/0 wire power and ground into 2 4awg for the amps.  10 awg cable for the sub speaker wire.  I need some recommendations for RCA interconnects though.  I'll probably stick with KnuKonceptz for that too though.  This is my most involved build so far, and I want to do it right.  I'll post lotsa pics once I get underway.  Thanks for all your help guys.

I can wire those speakers down to 2 ohms, and have 2 110 watt channels for 8" subs if I end up getting them, so I'm still waiting for recommendations on those.  Thanks again!
