sean 371
Mmk, so I'll be getting a new car within the next few weeks, so I'm planning the system going into it. It'll be along the lines of a tahoe/yukon/older escalade. Subs: 2 Type R 12's ported tuned to...not sure, could use some help here. I have no plans to compete, so I don't need a high SPL score. I want a good daily driven frequency. Amp: Hifonics bxi1605. KnuKonceptz wiring. 1/0 or 2 gauge distributed to 2 awg for sub amp and 8 for the speaker amp. I'll be doing the rest as time and funds allow. I'm going to be using my pioneer head unit out of my old car. Not their top line, but I'm satisfied with it, and have had no problems. for the rest, another hifonics 4 channel and some components sets. not set on a brand yet, thinking about mb quart, rainbow, focal, stuff like that. should run me around $1200 total. anything you would change in this setup? oh, and just out of curiousity, what do you think this would hit on TL? sean 371
Oh, and i wouldnt mind running alpines specs, but if its not too much trouble, could someone throw together some volumes for me for that box? Thanks guys, I love this site. I've learned quite a bit lurking around. So much better than a lot of other audio sites, people here actually know what theyre talking about. And I must offer my compliments to Mr. Meade as well, such badass and cleeeean work you do. sean 371
Nobody? :waaa: Also. Does anyone know where I can find a distribution block splitting one 1/0 awg input into one 2 awg and one 4/6/8 awg? I want to run my sub amp and speaker amp off the same run of 1/0, and I can't find a block for it. I'd run a buss bar, but this seemed a cleaner/better looking way to run it. sean 371
Change of plans, might go with Directed amps instead. I've heard some good things about them, and they look awesome. not that that matters, but I want the install to look bitchin too. Directed Audio D2400 and Directed A1004. Instead of Hifonics. Feel free to give your opinions of Directed! I want to know exactly what I'm getting into. sean 371
What frequency should i tune the r's to? How do you guys design your boxes anyway? I'm stuck with winisd, which I'm not sure i trust completely haha. i know i came across some formulas using the parameters that gave volumes and such, but I can't find them anymore. anyone know what im talking about?
