a_steezy Posted January 8, 2009 Report Share Posted January 8, 2009 you said your speaker was making a rattling sound. that would be your voice coil. and a burnt Sub kinda smells like burn toast out of the toaster. push down on the sub in the center and if it makes a crunching sound and is hard to push, then your sub is probably blown. ima agree, vc is done-zo here's my .02 i'm going to guess everything has a full warranty as it was purchased authorized...? screw the installer, you're down to little amp/sub errors, everything is in, why dont you, yourself pull the subs, check them yourself? i've learned more on this site than i could imagine, i say you do stuff yourself, if a sub is done, take it to the shop and have it warrantied, put it in yourself you should be able to do all that stuff through the site, just post questions and we'll help Quote '98 Dodge Durango 5.9L 5% front windows, 2.5% on all backs Alpine CDA-9883 Kicker ZX350.4 Kicker KS650's in all doors Kicker 1/0 hyperflex Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
