Since I bought this truck about 8 months ago or so, I have had problems with it while switching in to 4x4, that it would not get out of 4x4 mode. I figured out how to switch back. But while in 4x4, or turning sharply, or usually to the left, or in rain, the axle will feel really bumpy. So assuming it may just be the axle when engaged in to 4 wheel drive, or just when I turn sharply, that its an axle problem.

Is that what this sounds like? really bumpy turns, and bumpy when switched to 4 wheel drive?

This is lowered quit a bit, I' am thinking its a 4/6 drop, with drop spindles, the whole 9 yards, so I have assumed from the beginning that the suspension or drive train would be screwed up sooner or later due to the drop

The axles are not that expensive, only like $118 each, I have an extended warranty, my mechanic is a really cool guy, I' am sure I can get him to swap these out, as long as I pay for my deductible (axles, cvs not included in warranty)

So, does this sound like it may be the axles ( which I' am thinking myself)

or transfer case?

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

so when you are engaged into 4x4 and try turning sharply it kinda buckels and bumps as you turn??

that is completely normal in 4x4 if that's what you're wondering, no way around it really

is it doing in in 2 wheel?

If it is just when you turn on when you are are pavement or something hard when you are in 4x4 that is normal because the axles partially lock up so the tires are pulling when you turn. If it does it when its not in 4x4 you are still in 4x4 haha. Some trucks have trouble getting out of 4x4 mine does sometimes but that is somewhat normal. just put in in 2x4 and drive straight slowly forwards or backwards and it should have a small poping feeling and it will shift over to 2x4

Oh dude, somethings wrong, if I was the truck, it would be in pain, and its coming from the axle/ transfer case area, not the wheels. I don't have super swamper's or anything like that, nothing knobby that will cause that sensation of ruff turns ( I know that feeling)

It was lowered, had 20's on it, I sold the 20's got factories back on it, just 16"s nothing fancy- since I bought it, its always had issues switching to 4wd, and out of 4wd, and when in 4wd, the sensation is constant, not while its in 2wd, while turning in the morning, or when wet, like raining as it is today, it will bounce around while turning... I'am already leaning towards axles. I have heard that its possible that a bearing from the CV joint could have popped out, causing that... I guess I want a second opinion ( the warranty has a $100 deductible to just look at it and say whether it is, or not that issue)

I would rather get factory suspension back on this thing, and then be able to put larger rims on it, like 22-24s, its so low as is, 20"s was really hard to squeeze in there.

its night and day difference 4wd to 2wd... in 2wd I can pull burn outs in this truck, no problem, brake stands, I can literally dust most passenger cars on the road in this SUV as is- in 2wd- but in 4wd is when I have all the problems, or while doing u turns, it feels like the damn front end will fall off, and worse while turning

Last year I had a GMC s15 blazer, 4wd, it had knobby tires, and had transfer case issues, that truck would lock up, and not drive after in 4wd for a minute or 2, but it ran smoothly in 4wd at first

if this is on the Denalli, make sure ya check the front diff fluid. they are notorious for leaking out the side seals and lunching the diff. This can also cause jacked up 4x4 engagement being that it is electronically actuated at the diff by a force motor

I just took some pics of the axles in the front, I do notice a problem to what I THINK is a problem

Since these had lowering spindles, it looks like the axle is tweeked almost a Z shape, very light Z ofcourse, but this is on flat pavement, and you can see the axle going up about 3-4 inches to the spindle

with the axle in the shape could that cause issues?

I don't have any real problems with the rear differentials, just the common slight delay kick rolling at a red light, then gently hit the gas

I do see that has been leaking a little bit, but again, its all in the front area, no issues in the back area
