Boon Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Of course it dims the lights. You could have 60 Yellowtops on it and your lights would still dim, I'm assuming you have a stock alternator? Lights dimming happens because the amp uses more current than the alternator (14.4v) can supply so the voltage drops down to your battery voltage (12.8v) so your lights get a little dimmer. The JBL amps are actually pretty efficient. 10.x volts fo' life!
