fast85_gt Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 my friend gave me a stinger 1700 batterie he said his charger kicked out while charging it he guessed it was shot so i brought it home and charged it over night charger did not kick out after it sat on the charger for a couple hours i unhooked the leads and left them off a few hours and checked volts with a dmm it was still sitting at 13.1 volts do you think it would be safe to uus in my appcation or shoul i take it and have it checked by the pros at autozone anyone plz

On the first run though, make it a short trip around the block. (I learned that the hard way. Don't get to far from home) Then pull into the driveway turn it off and start it and drive it for awhile and then park it till the next day. If your altenator starts to squil or squeal with it hooked up for more the 30 seconds to a minute, I would say its shot man.
