On the 360, the new models have the jasper boards so they are supposed to be less prone to failure. Problem with the 360's was the dumb x-clamps they used to hold the heat sinks down and the grease on the heat sinks was crappy. My 1 year old system red ringed on me the other night. Nothing some good grease, screws, and washers wont fix. The screws and washers were used to replace the x-clamps and keep the heat sinks tight on the processors.
