What Are The Lvl 4 18's Like?

I have at the moment got a lvl4 15 in about 4.5 cu ft tuned to 32 and tbh it hits fukin hard! powered by a orion hcca 2400.

I was reluctant to go 15 as i was worried about it not being able to play music and having no punch, i was well surprised when i hooked it up and am very pleased with it.

I want to get a 4x4 maybe agrand cherokee or merc ml and want to have either 2x 15 lvl 4 or 2 x 18lvl 4 in there.

Would the 18's be ok if i had 2 sets of 6.5 comps up front? like would it sound shit on music ( i listen to hip hop 99% of the time and some old shit like 80's stuff very occasionaly)

I just cant believe how much lower the 15 lvl 4 was over the 12lvl 4 i had before, is the 18 gonna be loads deeper/harder again?

how much volume for 2x18's

am i worth getting the 4 xl's ? i,d love the lvl 5's but the weight is just too much, i,m gonna use this motor for a bit of towing for work so i cant be throwing in ridiculous amounts of weight, 130kgs would be acceptable but the 2 lvl 5's would be near that on there own and then theres the big cost of power supply, are the 4 xl's a lot better/louder as good sq as the normal 4's ?

I want to move lots of air! the 15 is pretty impressive, i reckon the 2 18's would be doin the hairtrick.

my lvl 4 18 did 142.15 only on 1 k rms!!!!

pretty good lows and everything and didnt bottom out....

when my amp messed up it fucked coils up so i got the xl...

if i had ur choice right now i would def go witht the xl's

I,ll have to check about avaliability of xl's over here, i,m not sure if dave (troublestarter on here) has them yet, i dont think he has 18's, mind you this project wont be for a few mths, the recessions starting to hit pretty bad here

What amp would be good for the xl's

would a hifonics bdi 1606 per sub be too weak? i guess it would be as they are about 10% over rated.

is the difference between normal and xl a big one then?

They do kick though these subs, everyone who gets in my van can not believe how much bass 1 15 gives, it flexes the screen 2 18xl's has to be savage right

yes get 2 lvl4 xl's you will be extremely happy, i am, they preformed beyond my expectations. the difference is alot honestly, its like 2 completely different woofers, the xl's are a beast!

Well I'll be running 4-18's and will have 2 sets of 6 1/2 comps in each front door. Rear passenger doors wil aslo have 6 1/2 comps as well but only one set. Build coming soon,,,, :
