Kinda new to car audio (Build police cars ie put in radios computers lights ect)

Im running 2 12 inch Kicker CVR's ina a probox ported p300.1 rockford amp and a 1 farad rockford cap, kickers wired Parallel 2 ohm i think just had to buy another one due to the voicecoil over heating here's what happend

Wired everything myself did not have the boxed tacked down and came to a stop when my seats where down and the box shifted to the front speaker wire was yanked out on driver side put them back in and "thought" i left enough slack on the pass side..well seemed i didnt know the ( - ) wire was pulled out ( + ) still plugged in ran the system pretty hard for about 20 minutes not know what had happen smelt a burning smell so i pulled out the remote wire and ran to the shop i work at and pulled my subs out (Smoke coming threw the port) driver side kicker was smoking and hot as a mother fucker pass sub was fine(normal heat) and i think my p300 was tuned to max Hz not knowing when all this happend.

What im getting to to avoid another 150$ repair was its both facts the high HZ and the pass ( - ) being pulled out and my driver sub was trying to pull for what the pass sub was not? or just the high HZ..right now i have a new kicker and my Hz tuned to 60 gain is at half way (maybe a little more) and punch EQ turned up just a little,Everything seems to be doing fine at the moment..just kinda worried.

Whats should my Hz be..belive the kickers ar 26 Hz.

best bet i would say is to screw/bolt your box down so its not bouncin around your trunk, make sure everything hooked up right (ex: pos-pos, neg-neg)

as far as your gains go. turn the volume on your head unit up to the loudest you will ever listen to it with your amp gains all the way down. then turn them up gradually until you hear the subs start to distort and then turn it back down until there's no more distortion and everything sounds good. its all about the ear. no 2 sub/amps/boxes are exactly the same. gotta play around with it a bit
