jizazz12
hey everyone need some help on multi amp hook ups. I'm in the works of a new build and my question is regarding how to hook up a second four channel amp for my kicks and front doors my system consists of 1 Jl 300/4,1 Jl 454/4 and 2 Jl 1000/1's. . now i know i can use a y splitter on the sub amps but what do i do for the four channel amps? can i use a splitter on them as well or is there a preamp of sorts that i can buy to just plug everything into and run them from there.I am using a pioneer premier prs 880 for my head unit it pretty much handles all cross over tasks and equalization tasks , any advice or help would be appreciated. Guest
most amps have an input and output RCA set. put the rca's coming from the headunit to the input, then run a set from output on that amp to input on the next amp etc

I think you are going to have to hook them up with y-cables like you said earlier... also you can go to jlaudio.com, then go to amps, and select discontinued and select the models you got, it will pop up the manuals. jizazz12
when spliting the signal off the rca with a y spliter does that work for stero or will this give me a mono signal? just wondering because mono not going to work for componets. I'll be honest with you, I'm not a pro installer or anything like that, and have only hooked up a few amps before.I have never done a set up where I had to use Y-cables. I would think the signal would still be stereo, but maybe we can get some more people to chime in on this.
noop
You should take a look at the manuals for the amps... incase you don't have them: 300/4: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/Slash_amps/300_4_MAN.pdf 450/4: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/Slash_amps/450_4_MAN.pdf
jizazz12
the manuals only instruct you on basic multi or bi amp systems , don't need to know this info already am familiar with it but thanks for the suggestion . i have an idea of how to add the amplifier into the mix if anything it's all trial and error. just thought that some of the more experienced guy's on here might lend a word of advice to simplify thing's. Kasey
If you take the right channel and put a y splitter on and run that to the right on the amps then do the same to the to the left you should be good Quote "Audio is not a hobby it's a lifestyle" _____________________________Refs_1_Refs_2_____________________________
