Explain how it's twice the power handling?

for ex

4 lvl 4 12s would handle more than 2 lvl 4 18s...

i think thats what he means

two more of the same motors, and 6kw instead of only 3k with the 18s

I would go with 18's. I really love mine. Box was tuned to 30Hz and it got plenty loud. Just run a decent amount of port area, and bigger box, and you'll be golden. I wouldn't go throwing a 2500.1 on each sub in that type of box, but it would be a decently efficient enclosure.

I think he is talking about either keeping the 12" L7's or going with DC 18's. The motors of the DC's (if they're level 4's maybe even level 3's) are much better pieces. Not to mention going with DC's gives you the option of re-coning the subs when you blow it, as opposed to replacing the entire sub.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...

Oh I see. He was comparing the same subs but that doesn't really apply to loganuf's situation lol.

No I was comparing t he L7 to the lvl 4

Internet companies are not the only subs that can handle more then rated power. The L7 10 and 12 handle more power quite well.

Explain to us how 4 L7s can handle twice the power of two DC lvl 4 18s?
