Chris Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 I'm wondering if anyone can describe to me how an amp that says "3-way capable" functions. I understand this somewhat and awhile back I took a 2 channel Pioneer amp and wired a 4ohm sub to each channel and another 4ohm sub to the bridged outputs at the same time. I had all 3 subs playing like this and they sounded loud, clear, and I didnt blow any fuses or anything. Is this what 3-way capable means? 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR.
lovellsz Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 i maybe wrong but the way i understood it was you take like a pair of regular speakers and wire them one per channel then take a sub and bridge the amp(using a 2 channel amp) with the sub you use a lp x over like the kinda you have inline not the one on the amp, and you have the amp set on full or ap. Guest MegaloManiac Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 3 way means like 3 way active or 4 way active. you have your -Highs -Midrange -Midbass -Sub (this one would make it a 4 way if you have all of the above )
