The enD Posted March 12, 2009 Author Report Posted March 12, 2009 It is not a Ferrari DAMN IT. I was asking is it good or not for my project. To do it or not. I know my abilities and as an aesthete I think it will rock. I am not thinking bout SMD style but something to take your sight. What do you think about a wall with one woofer? Quote
Nightshade Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 It's not good. You have no room in the car, the windshield is not flat enough, and the doors are too long. A good spl car has a flat winshield, very short doors, and tons of room behind the b pillar. That's why people wall some vehicles cause the doors are so short and have very little space to travel to the dash. A flat dash helps the wave hit it right at the mic instead of getting stuck in the angle at the dash and windshield. Tons of cargo area helps so you can build a proper size box and have room for batteries and amps. Where are you going to put quite a few batteries in that car, or amps, and not to mention there is no room for a decent enclosure? The enD Posted March 12, 2009 Author Report Posted March 12, 2009 I think you all got me wrong. I am not doing a car for a bassrace. It will be for my daily use. No DB drags and things, just my car. Now I get some of the comments ... sorry for the mistake. English a foreign for me. Quote

Now I get some of the comments ... sorry for the mistake. English a foreign for me. You asked if the car was good for spl and the answer is NO, and I gave you all the reasons why it is not good for spl. I said nothing about competing with it, but did use a reference of the spl mic cause it's what's used to measure SPL. The topic you asked if it was good for was spl, now if you wanted to know if it was a good daily driver why not just ask is this car good for a loud daily setup? Is this car good for a loud daily setup. I prefer bass. Lots of it. Maybe one sub on a wall cause of the space issue .... The only 3 pics of mr2 with music i found on google ... That wont be enough for me bass addiction ^^ A Rockford Fosgate 10-inch sub fits neatly behind the passenger seat in a wedge-style truck box. Edited March 12, 2009 by The enD Quote

He wants box ideas and shit... tell me if im wrong No one needs to chill out, I wasn't even coming down on him. I was just explaining to him that a daily ride and a spl ride are two different things. I think that the car might be okay for a daily setup, but it's going to be hard to fit any type of enclosure in there. If you could wall the car then that would be the best bet for it to get loud. I'm not exactly how you would do it though cause you've got a wierd type of center console in the car. I guess that you could build around it and even do a woofer on each side behind each person's head. That is what I would do if I owned the car. You will still need a few batteries if you want to be fairly loud. I'm sure you can fit a couple group 31 batts in that trunk and still squeeze the amps in there. It's going to be a challenge and if it's not loud enough there's not much that you can do to it to make it louder.
