Sounds like my PT! :D

Most likely from underneath the car, might be a 'splash shield' to remove, and also might need to remove the front wheel.

no, i tried that. theres too much crap in the way

if i remember right, the easiest way is to unbolt one of the motor mounts

it has a stud that goes down through the subframe

and i think its a 19mm

or a 21mm

then u can use a jack and a block of wood

and jack the motor up some

there is a splash shield on the taurus

the inner fender

take it out

gives alot more access to the alt

there. thats what he had to say in the im lol

Seriously, that car is one of 3 that I refused to do installs on because of where that alternator is... For someone that is good with installs, mechanicing etc, and someone with a lift, all the proper tools and patience it's 3 hours to R&R that alternator.. Without all that, 4,5, even 6 hours.. It is BURIED in there... Be VERY careful with the output stud on the factory 4G alternator, they are easy to break and you will have to cut the surrounding plastic of the B+ post to get a bigger terminal on them.. To even get to the alt to do the big 3 is a PITA!!!
