Slapuhho Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Okay, So I had this P2 set from Best Buy, I know sad? It was my first system and sounded very good actually. I'm upgrading to a 15" RE SX in the summer. I thought that I was in the clear till then just have my first system till summer, sell them then get the RE right? Wrong! I ended up blowing my subs a few days ago. I was relieved when I remembered I had a warranty for them. So I go in there today with my friend(crump t1) and I'm like okay so i'm getting it replaced today, sick! We drop off my car and go run to some places. I then get a call from the installer, He tells me that they don't have any of the p2 sets in stock and they don't sell them anymore. I'm like what the fuck are you kidding me? So I go back to try to sort it all out. I have this idea that I can pay the difference and just get the p3's installed in the same box! I thought that would be okay since I had the warranty right? Wrong again! They then tell me that I would need to buy a new box because I can't use the old box because it was part of the blown subs. I would have to pay 700 dollars for everything and My friend could just do the installation. Being a sixteen year old kid who spent every single paycheck on my subs and having the warranty which I thought would make a difference ended up fucking me over. I cannot do anything but wait for my new system which I need to save up the money for till summer. I am now out of 1700$ from the bill that best buy charged me for the initial install and all they could do for me was give me a little store credit. It just confuses me how they would sell me something and I buy the warranty and then it not be able to be replaced, what is the point of the warranty if it can't fucking be replaced? It also shocks me that they let me walk out of the store after I told them my subs were blown and they said alright it will be an hour and you'll be all set! When they didn't even check to see if they had any. So in all, I'm heartbroken, pissed off, and broke without subs. All because people don't know how to do their jobs and how their policies work. To them it was just another disgruntle customer but to me that's all I've worked for to be washed down the drain because of poor customer service really suck. I'm sorry to vent, but I had to get that off my chest. Also, build log this summer, p1000 powering a RE SX 15 38hz installed by Crump T1. I don't think you were stupid at all. I always skip the warrant and thought that was stupid. Maybe not now. At least you had the stuff installed professionaly. That is always worth the money if you are young and broke. mistakes end up costing more. I remember my first amp I hooked up to the wires coming out under the seat of my Topaz. It was there for the purpose of power seats, which I didn't have. I think I just grounded it right to some random screw on the seat and threw the amp under there. LOL, no fuses, nothin. I'm lucky I lived to talk about it. Actually, that might have been the 2nd amp (Roadmaster). I had a booster purchased previously. That thing was crazy, it hung by velcro under the dash and I'd hit "Boost" and bamn! That thing picked up sooo much noise. Wow. Interesting story though. Write them an email. I drive by their HQ everyday and I can even drop off a flaming bag of poop or something if you want.
Sp33dyG Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 we all make mistakes we just gotta learn from them.....also since u had warrenty they should replace ur subs with something else that they have in stock at least or let u buy the p3's and just pay the diff which shouldnt be alot the only person i wouldnt let build my box would be Ray. creyc Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Tell them to shove the store credit up their ass. Demand a refund. If you bought the warranty from them, which they cannot honor, nor will they even compromise with you by letting you pay the difference for some replacement P3s then they are being totally uncooperative and very unprofessional. Go back to the store, ask to talk to the STORE MANAGER, wait a few minutes for him if you have to but he's the one most likely to get this issue resolved. You bought a product from them and a warranty. You had it installed by them, and that product failed within the warranty period. If they can't or won't replace it with a similar product I would 100% expect a refund. Take you business elsewhere. Ask the manager why would you want store credit at a store that doesn't honor their own warranty and treats you like shit. I wouldn't settle for their offer 2001 Chevy Blazer (2) SAZ-3000Ds (2) custom 18" Madmax subs in a second row wall Rockford 600-4 Pioneer PRS components Pioneer P800PRS deck
slugdub Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Yeah, I always liked Best Buy's installs. They back it up. I had my rockford blow a channel under warranty and they gladly pull it, send it in, and reinstall it. Also they say they will remove anything installed if you switch cars. Don't see how a warranty would be any different. That is where they make all their profits from.
dekim8891 Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Props to the pro install, if you've got the money to do it that's the way to go. I'm getting my stuff installed in a couple of weeks and it is costing me. I know how to hook the stuff up but everyone makes mistakes and I sure as heck don't want it to be on my dime... but man go chew the manager a new one that is total bs!
