milesmiles
How would I install one of these for my subwoofer?
roscoe1129
generally those are used to block bass but they go inline with your rca before the amp Quote Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer Scientia est Vox "In Nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti" DONT BE AFRAID TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!! brewer_brewer
what frequency range are you trying to eliminate? milesmiles
This is a low pass so it eliminates all but the bass. But what do you mean "in line" with the RCA?
milesmiles
I am trying to eliminate all frequencies above 100 hz. This model is a 100 hz low pass.
ISO
Inline: Instead of just pluging your RCA's in to the amp, put that between the RCA's and the amp. I bought a set of those for a 70 hertz lowpass and it dulled down the sound of the output to my subs that I took it out within 5 minutes of trying it and was pissed that it attenuated my output so horribly. I consider those a very, very last resort. Quote Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one. raytard
yes, use the lpf function of your amp or headunit, that is the simplest (and free) option or get a processor/eq of some kind, look at audiocontrol or the rockford 360.2 Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
milesmiles
I can't find a 4 ohms stable amp with a LPF. Does anyone know of one? And thanks for the processor ideas.
Mikesmith0890
Most amps have them, My Alpine MRP-m500 has one, the rockford 500 i used to have had one, acutally all sub amps ive had have had one.. and 99% of amps are should be 4 ohm stable..
