Colin - STAPUFT
Oh, I know. I had some guy make fun of me using the Carver EQs because they were so old. He was like- man, we used those years and years ago! ...so... if they were good enough then, why not now? I'm all about old school. Short of some HUGE jump in level of technology (aka the RF 360), then why get a newer EQ that does the same thing, just not as well as the old school? I got all 3 of these for less than the 1990s retail of ONE. 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain. Colin - STAPUFT
So- got a new Kenwood eXcelon HU. Wootie. Going to be a minute before I get it in though. Work is going to strive to destroy me this week. ha! It will be fun though once it is in. I plan on building in the USB, AUX input, and switch for my bass processor all into the dash. Nice and clean. Still haven't decided if I want to make the cig lighter into the bass knob or not.... I actually use the thing for charging phones and whatnot. Anyway, it will be a good time of tweaking, o-scoping and so on once it is in there (hopefully sometime @ Christmas) I did get my fire extinguisher mounted though. lol. 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain. 218KingKong218
This is modeling it: the yellow is my old box and the red is the new one. The old one hit lows that didn't even sound natural. I dunno about the cancellation- they will all be in phase so why should there be cancellation? As I understand it, there is no cancellation below 80 hz or something (hoopty for example). Not to jack your thread at all but and this is probably a dumb question but I am new. Where did you get this software or what is it called?
218KingKong218
Gotta' check that out! lol I love playing stuff that "shouldn't" boom, but does. Right now, Colin's Audio Hobby is on more than hold unfortunately. Motor dropped a cylinder AND the battery died, despite of occasional charges. Plus- the real baby is on his way! As of now, our first- Corban -is 31 weeks along and a massive 5 almost 6 lbs. The Dr. said we were making some sort of "Giant Toddler Baby" lol! Currently he is in the 90th Percentile as far as growth. He is answered prayers that is for sure- at first he had heart troubles and then we had a scare with Preclampsia / Toxemia- but all shows good as of right now. So- van on hold, but for the best reason in the whole wide world. Look at my progeny!!!! Congrats on Corban It is great he is doing so well now. I hope you enjoy your lifelong build of Corban

Colin - STAPUFT
Ruh Roh! On the to do list: Intake manifold gaskets, coolant temp sensor, thermostat, EGR valve, IAC valve, heater core hose bib, ignition coil, ignition coil pack, ignition pick up coil, throttle body gaskets and rebuild. ...for starters. Let's HOPE it fixes things. The coolant passages were full of crud (despite several flushes), moisture had gotten into the Distributor (jacking it and causing corrosion), the intake gaskets were letting oil seep out all over the place, EGR & IAC Valve shot, coolant temp sensor waaay off- I can only hope. This alone took the better part of a day (with running errands). No way it will be back together before next weekend. Hopefully it will clear things up- unless I have a burnt valve, shot rings, or a dropped lobe. 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain. If I ever let these Vegas go, I will let you know. lol. Wifey and kid are out of town for sister-in-law's baby shower & work eased off, so I finally get a chance to at least start working on the motor (since it looks like I will never have the $$ or time for the 350). 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain. Colin - STAPUFT
It lives, NICE! Good luck with the motor! Let's hope it lives. We shall soon see. If this goes well and she gets up and going, I have real pressing matters such as: Installing 2 Wolo "Bad Boy" air horns, installing 2 more factory horns, installing my mechanical siren, hooking them all up to big relays and a switching means- running another set of fuses and 4awg, rewiring the power to the amps, and lastly- adding my second "220" amp alternator that I built. 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain.
