Colin - STAPUFT Posted September 25, 2011 Author Report Posted September 25, 2011 Whaaat?? Horns (donor van) 4 Horns! Incognitus!!! lol Now, I know I could should have run a fat power wire to a relay and then to the 4 horns. That would have given them a bit more amperage and volume, but meh... Pretty freakin' loud with the additional two wired in with the factory two. I have wired other vehicles like this and have never had issue with burning wires, blowing fuses, or burning out the factory horn relay. Just as long as you don't sit on the horn for a minute- all is well. For those up on the different "Tone" AC Delco horns, these are just like the 2 factory ones- an A and C (I think). So no, it doesn't sound like a Cadillac with the 4 note set of horns (A, C, D, & F). It sounds like an Astro horn, just more of it. 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain. Colin - STAPUFT Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 WOLO "Bad Boy" air horns!!! Everything is hidden. Big surprises to come for people who don't know a grany van has horns like this. Rewired everything horn and fog light wise. Re-did my fuses and relays. Lots of fuses, lots of zip ties and wire loom. As you guys can see, a good bit of it is on this part under the van. So fog lights only come on when parking lights come on- and even then there is a defeat-able switch. 2 aooga horns (the red ones) on their own button (loud too!), the 4 "factory" horns and the 2 air horns come on together. The air horns are hidden behind and under the grill. I'm not exactly in love with the sound yet, but my wife likes it. ...Strange... It is loud as all get out, I know that... and pulls some serious juice. When the van is off with the voltage floating at 12.5, the horns will knock it down to something like 11.5-11.4 More stupid fun is all. 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain.
