I may just make the sides come down like 2 inches on each side of the box where it sets right and face it towards the front of the truck floor boards so to speak and put a port comming up towards the ceiling what u think ?

i would do the sub towards the back and the port facing forward.

In my experience all meters LIE, the shop i worked at when i first built my truck had an audio control meter that had a 150db mic so we never used it, when we were close to finishing my truck the first time we ordered the better mic and tested it. On the dash with the door open my 8 12's hit a 174.SOMETHING. I know this is a bogus number, everyone else around thought it was dead on and it was a huge deal that it was that loud. That was with a 16v charging system on about 3k watts with very little voltage drop at the amps.

I have since ordered a TL for personal use but it didn't come in til after i deployed to Iraq so it will be a few more months til i get back and try it out. Regardless of the numbers the truck puts up I am happy with it, I don't plan to compete and don't really care if someone else is louder but it was a huge pick me up to see that number on the screen. My guess is mid 150's is a more realistic number especially since i have gone back to a 12v charging system and lost some room in the bed from the body drop.

I am going to try to see if there is anyone is still know at my old shop when i get back, I can do a side by side comparison of the AC and TL meters and i wouldn't be surprised if there is about a 10+ db difference between the two.

2003 Ford F-150 Reg Cab layin body on 26's

2003 Tahoe 3/5 drop on 26's with a 408cid Supercharged engine.

2011 Camaro 2SS 2005 VW GTI Stage II ECU, CAI, 3" turbo back exhaust, FMIC, lowered 2" on some plastidipped 18's

2003 Hayabusa lowered, stretched, cams, nitrous and custom paint

Derrick on here says there can be a big difference he said you could hit a 160 on the AC and only hits in the 140's on a TL or something like that.

another arkansan here. which part are you from.

I had a friend that took out his center seat and put in a box with the sub and port facing back. it sounded good and got loud. But it was also big. the top was maybe a few inches under shoulder height when you sit in the seat.
