Chode69
well i hooked it up to my buss bars and ran it at 20 amps for like 45 minutes...turned on the accessories and was sitting at 14.7V(on the stinger voltage meter)....checked my voltage w the DMM and saw a 14.4 dont know which one to beleive. but i had the accessories on and the batts and the front was all reading 14.4V guess my batts hold a good charge because the unit shut off once after running for a while and i turned it back on and bout 10 mins later it shut back off and voltage was sitting around 13.3 on the stinger when i unhooked the charger... Chode69
ooo ok thats what i figured...also i got 2a, 10a, 20a and 35a charge rate...i had 10 on at first then later i put it on 20....what do you recommend when i just wanna recharge it after a long day of just blasting...and when im at shows in between runs what should i set it to.... i would THINK like a 10 amp for a long day for a few hours of charging (or however long) til complete and at shows the 20-35 amp area for a quick jump and boost in between runs Quote NoFearX18 said: Nick will bang just about anything.....LMAO....pun intended On 4/13/2010 at 9:51 AM, meade916 said: i was like DAMN, Chode is hardcore! he makes james look like a friendly person LOL! trainman0978 said: I dont know who is worse with the buttholes Chode or Big P... It will go through 3 charging cycles then go to a "float" mode that keeps them at about 13v. it kicking on and off is prolly the charger trying to hold the batterys at the "float" level Quote you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. tommyk90
I hate automatic chargers. Anyways, the slower the better when it comes to charging. I always charge my batteries for a couple days before a show with a 2 amp charge. Gets them to hold a charge very well. Higher amperage is good for quick bursts of voltage, but it doesn't "fill" them up to 100% capacity. tommyk90
kool thanks...will keep that into consideration the night before the comp (i dont have anther vehicle to let it sit for 2 days...always running around haha)but why do you hate automatic chargers? I had an automatic charger and it would always top out at 13.2 volts when it said the batteries were 100% full (which they weren't). The manual charger will always go above 14 volts, even with the lowest setting. And even if the batteries to to 100%, the voltage stays at 14 or higher.
