bobonit
Not sure if this should go here or under electrical, but here goes. I'm going to be running my wires soon, so I guess i need to start buying some. I'd like to use the Knukonceptz Karma SS speaker wire. I need to know what size I should be buying. I'm running 3 SAX-100.4D amps at 4ohms/4 channel so 100 overrated watts per channel. Sundown E8's for midbass, Tang Band 6.5 for mid and Seas Neo Tweets. Is the 16awg good enough or do I need to go up to 12awg? I know I'm not running tons of power, but I was wondering how much impedance loss I would be getting since the amps are in the trunk and the speakers up front. thanks. 97 Maxima SE Bunch of shit going in, check out the build Build Log
Mtgrooves
I always run 14 gauge in my rides for my mids and highs I really like to use Monster 14 gauge 4 conductor wire so I don't have to make two runs and it's all in one jacket it works out slick. bobonit
Did a little more searching, I think I found my own answer. In the Wire/Fuse Guide under the electrical section it is showing for a 4ohm load I'm ok as long as I'm under 300 watts so I think I'm good there. 16 gauge: ~8.7 amperes 8 ohms - <600 watts 6 ohms - <450 watts 4 ohms - <300 watts 3 ohms - <225 watts 2 ohms - <150 watts 1 ohm - <75 watts 97 Maxima SE Bunch of shit going in, check out the build Build Log

whitedragon551
Overkill on wire size wont hurt, but not big enough will. Go with 12 gauge.
