Ma Audio

Well I was looking around, and I'm getting 2 12'' alpine type r's, I've had my mind set on a Hifonics Brutus amp, but I seen these and I've heard nothing but good things about MA audio. Would a type r take 800 watts rms with the gains down? because it would be about $50 cheaper than getting a brutus if I just bought 2 of these. Thanks ahead of time for your input.

2 of what though? If you have the gains down, it wouldn't be putting out 800rms. Oh and from experience, and im sure A LOT of people will back me up, 1 amp is much better than multiple amps. Otherwise there are wires all over the place. Id go hifonics or a bigger MA audio monoblock

How bout 2 of these instead? Oh and in the right box, you can over power subs by quite a lot without them blowing. The new type r's should be able to handle this I would think.

lmao dude, I need to get my shit together LOL I ment to put that one you posted, but instead I put that one, because it was $99 thats why I just guessed it was the one lol, I'm an idiot.

And when you say the right box, what do you recomend? A big box? What kinda box allows more power?

I mean when the box is tuned correctly and well built, then the sub can perform at the optimum level and will handle more power in some cases. Also sorry, for some reason I was thinking type r's were 750 rms so those amps probably wouldnt work after all.

Hell yeah man, I called the junkyard today, and I'm in fukn luck, they still have my front clip for my caddy. So I gotta go pick that up saturday, and hopefully next month I'll start the build, I promise if all goes well and I don't gotta spend anymore money on fixing my car, I'll have a build log for ya. And you'll have a box to laugh at LOL because its gonna be my first box I have ever built :P

Maybe even a front clip replacing tutorial LOL

Yeah just take your time and do a quality job. Those are the key points I cant stress enough! Boxes arent all that hard to build, they just take patience. Remember you got us here if you need ANY help man!
