jdmbb95 Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 ok im building a box for my friend for 4 12's i have the box size all done but i need help on a port size. the box is 9.97Cubes after displacement of subs and bracing. i want to tune the box to 32hz i have a pic of how i want the port to be so if someone can help me on the size of it please. i used a port calculator but i want to make sure i get this right. heres the pic of how the box will be i have the wood all cut and ready to go just need the port size figured out.

jdmbb95 Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 ok i think i got this figured out i can do it one of two ways. i can go 20" x 6" x 30" port length that would tune me to 32.20hz with 120.00" square of port and 15.03 square of port area/cube according to amatt85's calculator. so my L1 wood would be 10.5" and L2 wood would be 9". the box internal is 16.5"-6" so the first port thats 20"x6"x30" should look like this below correct? port 1 20"x6"30L" or i can do 30"x4"x32 and will give me 32.14hz with 120.00" square of port and 15.73 square of port area/cube and this once should look likes this port 2 what one do u guys think would be better port 1 or port 2?
