Kian
i need help making a new box. I need this to be a burp box with sub and port facing forward, this will be going into a Nissan maxima. it needs to be around 3.5 cubes. now heres my question. i see people with boxs that have little or no slot port its just a bis ass port in the baffle. does anyone know how to tune these? i wanna make it a 47 Hz box because my car peaks around 51-53 Hz. Thanks for all the help kian. 97maxima
why would you want a large gapping hole like that, id go slotted with a nice flare or some areos Quote American Bass*DC Power
Kian
maybe its just mine but i peak between 45-47hz but its been with nearly 5 cube enclosures woofer up port back I would ne scared to burp it @ that low of a frquency. I will be putting around 4,100 wats to the sub at 1/2 ohm. When i have my sub forward and port forward with my current box it feels like just wind movement. 97maxima
it does seem that way i recently built a test box with a interchangable extrenal port, but its loudest on the dash. it was sub up port forward . unless you seal the front baffle off so nothing escapes from the cabin back into the trunk imo its not worth doing with sub/ port forward. Boon
I dunno if that 4k2d will like 1/2 ohm... With the ports that are just a hole, its actually more like the baffle is thick enough to act as port length and you just put a huge roundover on the edge of the baffle. You need about 2.5" of port for it to actually resonate properly (i.e. be a port...) Generally result in epic high tuning and get thrown in the back of Fiat Panda's and Marbellas....... Kian
I heard i can get the 4k2d at a 1/2 ohm with at roll burp.
