The electrical consists of a 200 amp H-O alt, the big 3 done in 1/0, optima yellow top under the hood and 2 HC2200's in the back. When i first hooked up the batteries in the back my voltage "cold" would be around 15.1v and stayed around 14.6-14.8v after warming up consistently for about a month. Now on a cold start i'm lucky to see 14.5 and it'll rest at 13.9-14.1v after warming up...what happend here? I have a 3rd hc2200 waiting to be wired up but i wanna get this problem figured out first. I was thinking of getting a mla module but not sure if this will help, or if it's just my alt starting to crap out. Decaf Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 have you charged the batts since original install likely ur alt is not recharging them fast enough/deep enough so either u need smaller pulley, different alt... or recharge ur batts every so often the MLA will work while the alt is engaged but not if you have low idle output problems, which could be the case what kind of alt my friends EA 200a alt sucks ball sac... lol... no charge til almost 1200rpm

Loud01Blazer Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 my alt is made by high out put alternators, it is around 2 years old... as for charging them, i have not done so since the initial install. I have even unhooked the batts back there and measured the voltage at the alt and it's still @ 13.9v. not sure if that matters i'm just giving you guys every bit of information i have. Also are you talking about changing fuses on the power wire going from front battery to back?? Decaf Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 ok well if the max voltage u can get from ur alt is 13.9 u got an issue, lol start by charging the batts... and see if u can check ur alts amperage it puts out at given rpm's that should paint a better picture of whats going on... ur batts are only going to charge as high as the alt can charge so who knows.... i had a HO alt too and they do offer smaller pulleys fyi
