HPI_Savage25 Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2009 Well I looked into it and plan on it but I looked at my alternator and it has some sort of plug type thing.....not sure how to do it with those. I doubt I am even getting 14v right now, probably more around 13 I know when I check right at the battery it is around 12.3v I don't know where to check it at though... And that battery is just auto zones distinction between there batterys. Its there gold line which has a 3 year free replacement warrenty. I believe I have tested it before while it was running but I will check again when I get the truck back from the AC shop. Should be done tomorrow. First time is said "LO" so I got my DMM out and adjusted it as close as I could get it really quick and then went to test one more time and DMM wouldn't come on. Anyways I am idleing at 13.7-13.8 with music on WITHOUT my sundown 1200d but I am still running my Kenwood 280 (fused to 25amp). I can rev up some and get it to 13.9 but that is max. So I ditched that idea.... Would a 120amp alternator be ok or know of an alternator I can get for around $200-250 that puts out more power?
