3 Sundown NSv2 15s/ AA500.1 build pg 21 new vids

Recommended Posts

i think it peaked at 25 with a 138.8, 30 stayed around a 138, when it got up to 35 id was about a 133, after that it was a 131

at 20 hz i think it was still above a 135, maybe even 137.

but i wasnt really paying attention too much and was doing real time testing on the termlab, full tilt, one tone right after the other. By the time i smelled something and turned it off there was already smoke coming from the port.

Just the 2 sundown 1500s

i sold out man. im leaving the 1500's behind and going 3ks. ill have to try usaci style to see how far behind i am now.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Yo fritos, nice update dude!! Quick question about the port flares, you just made them with the same 4" PVC tube or you did them with a bigger tube so you could fit them on the tubs instead of having to tape them together? i´m talking more about the internal flares, cheers!!

I started out with a Saz3000, but went to the 1500s so i could wire them lower.

the 4" ports i made were with one single 4" pipe, I made the big flare first and marked on the mold how far it went out, then I flared the inside and tried to keep about a 1/4 on each side so the internal flare fit through the cut out.

Sometimes the easiest things in live you can´t see them haha, great idea dude, i asked you that because i´m gonna build some flares for a 18´s box in my swift , thanks a lot for the input!!

yes, great job!! I have made a lot of PVC flares but just the ouside, for the internals i just tape the 2 pieces together, if not, i make a flare with a routher on wood and then, i get the pipe on that piece of wood, it´s better if the tubes are large so they can have some kind of renforcement, for exaple fritos, if the tubes were 25" long in your case, how can you give them some besides screwing the port on the box face?

You may have a hard time flaring pipe larger than 4 inch, I tried 6inch before but couldnt ever get enough pressure. the 4in pipe was really thing so it worked alot easier.

just found this thread... great job with the kerf cuts & port flares

thanks

are you talking about the port holding itself on? The pipes are thick enough for its size to support its weight.

and holding it on the face just takes some screws. if they started bouncing around you can add a dowel rod and glue or glass it between the pipe and wall, if also seen ppl make a second face inside the box to screw the inner flare into, but i think that would cause some turbulence.

I know they can support they own weight, but with a lot of pressure inside the box, wouldn´t they vibrate, flex or even move a little bit if you hold them just to the face?sorry about the questions, firsttime i´m building a daily box for 18´s and i don´t know how it´s gonna turn out hehe
