Downfire Box For 18

Any ideas on building a downfire box for an 18? I was thinking about trying a build this summer for a new sub but being in a Jeep with a fiberglass hard top my 15 already causes a great deal of pressure on the top. This is why i was thinking that an 18 firing at the roof or back window would probably not be a good idea. Does anyone have any ideas on how it would work or how i should go about trying this build? Sub down port back

honestly, pressure is pressure, if you want to downfire and have the same volume, its going to be the same pressure regardless of orientation

and I've never liked downfiring (subs hidden, i think they peak weird and sound funny, spl usually drops in a vehicle environment, etc)

just my .02...and the biggest downfiring I did was 2 15" eclipses in an s-10...it rattled the hell out the truck at like 50-60hz but never dropped low and was....well wierd...frequency response had more dips than a rollercoaster..and it was a sealed box with like 5inches for the subs to breathe (was like balanced on hump with the far sides by the doors coming down to meet the ground and stabilize it) built the same box later on, but front firing and it sounded 10x better

raytard thats weird, most all of downfiring boxes i have done in trucks come out pretty well.

i got a good idead sell the yeeep and buy something with metal sarrounding it... i think i heard downfiring port is not a good idea but i dont know this i just heard..wouldnt kill anyone to try it...i say go for it

Do you think i should have it firing forwards then and port out back?
