On paper, Ray's Hummer has more cone area, and they have about the same amount of power going to the subs, but even Ray said that the escalade absolutely "kill the lows". They meter about the same..but i'm willing to bet that the escalade peaks at a lower frequency. Apple's or oranges..their both fruit...would you rather bite an apple or peel an orange...lol! Both are amazing set ups! Forevrbumpn Posted May 6, 2009 Report Share Posted May 6, 2009 on average: 85sq inch per 12" x's 16 = 1360sq inch cone area with the 12"s 18s on the ather hand, vary from 200- 230sq inch of cone area per sub, so the 18s actually own on the cone area 200sq inch x8 = 1600 230sq inch x8 = 1840 So the 18s actually have more cone area I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
