tein__69 Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Hi guys i am from Puerto Rico i have seeing this website for a logn time and de4cided to join relly helpful site and i need the most help i can get , i want to do a ported clamshell for 6 15" maybe i nthe future 12 15 " and i dont know how to calculate a ported clamshell the tunning , cubis feet how do you tune that ??and if it s better sealed it a bassrace setup probably 2 alt 12 batts and 10 to 12k rms thanks !!

The size of your enclosure (it's Volume) needs to be tuned to the size (volume) of air inside the port. From the beginning, you need to figure out what kind of subs you are going to be using. Then, you add all their enclosure volume requirements together. This allows you to get a actual port size and length. There are formulas and programs for figuring both enclosure size and port volume, so figure out what subs you will be using. Despues de eso, te podremos mas con la sistema. I basically assumed it was a regular vented enclosure and modeled it after that. With the subs playing off one another, I hoped it would tune and play lower than it modeled- and it does.
