Crump Posted May 9, 2009 Author Report Posted May 9, 2009 ohms law http://members.chello.nl/r.kuijt/images/en_ohm.jpg ok so how do i use this to set my gain. I refered to the jl audio step by step thing. here http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=143 and it has that voltage chart for the jl audio amps so you can match the gain to the ac voltage. Does rf not have this? Team gg Team doa Installs I have doneMy 2010 Rebuild 144 db so far....2 DC xl 10s Firing into cabin on a RF 25002 12" AQ HD's powered by a Saz 2k + Lots o Mids+Highs
CMFR1 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 ok so say you want 1000 wats at 1ohm you take 1000 times 1 then the square root as long as you have 2 values you can figure out anything....

CMFR1 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 depends on what your sub is wired to and how many watts you think you can safely put to it
Crump Posted May 9, 2009 Author Report Posted May 9, 2009 depends on what your sub is wired to and how many watts you think you can safely put to it Its a Re Sx 15 1000 watts rms. So you think 1200 would be ok to use in the formula or the full 1400 Team gg Team doa Installs I have doneMy 2010 Rebuild 144 db so far....2 DC xl 10s Firing into cabin on a RF 25002 12" AQ HD's powered by a Saz 2k + Lots o Mids+Highs
CMFR1 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 i have no idea what you can put out without a clipped signal....
Guest KyleCannon Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 http://kylecannon.net/audio_helper/index/f...tage_from_watts personally, i would say give yourself 200-300 watts headroom to be safe
