yellwo24
ok well i decided to get some 15'' 4 ohm Hcca's from orion (2000rms, 4000 peak) i bought 2 of them. i have the great opportunity to get a hifonics goliath which is 5000 rms at 1 ohm, 3200 at 2. will this be to much power? even if the subs are wired at 2 ohms? im really worried about the peak wattage. Team_DC-Derrick
are they single? i thought they were dual, if they are dual you can wire it to 4 ohm or 1 ohm Quote The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... amazinblazin10
uhm, you could do at 3200 on a burb but for daily driving i'd be kinda nervous throwing that much power to them.. but i guess you could always just turn the gain down a bit.. just my opinion but you can see what other people think as well Quote 1997 Dodge Ram Van 2500 Big III addition with 1/0 awg wiring all throughout Lightning Audio Strike S4.1000.1D Jenson XA2250 2 - 12" Mtx Jackhammers JH55 3ft cubed box sealed under the rear bench seat Pioneer DEH-P6000UB head unit MB Quart FWA 160 components up front
yellwo24
well thats the thing, im pritty sure i can wire them down to 2 ohms because each sub is a 4 DVC so if i wired them in series then allowed the amp to output at 2 ohm i should be alright, right? amazinblazin10
if they are dual voice coil you can only do either a 1ohm or 4 ohm load.. 4 Ohm DVC wiring configurations Edited May 13, 2009 by amazinblazin10 Quote 1997 Dodge Ram Van 2500 Big III addition with 1/0 awg wiring all throughout Lightning Audio Strike S4.1000.1D Jenson XA2250 2 - 12" Mtx Jackhammers JH55 3ft cubed box sealed under the rear bench seat Pioneer DEH-P6000UB head unit MB Quart FWA 160 components up front

amazinblazin10
"Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono" so if the amp is at 2 ohm i should be alright? where are you getting 2ohm from? only way you can do a 2ohm load is if you run 1 sub.. but your running two so your gonna hook your subs either to a 1ohm load or 4 ohm load.. you can't change the load on the amp all you can do about that is to set the gain on the amp properly Quote 1997 Dodge Ram Van 2500 Big III addition with 1/0 awg wiring all throughout Lightning Audio Strike S4.1000.1D Jenson XA2250 2 - 12" Mtx Jackhammers JH55 3ft cubed box sealed under the rear bench seat Pioneer DEH-P6000UB head unit MB Quart FWA 160 components up front
velcroslap
"Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono" so if the amp is at 2 ohm i should be alright? you can't wire (2) 4 0hm DVC subs at a 2 ohm load. only 4ohm and 1 ohm. brewer_brewer
i don't think you understand. if you have two dual 4 ohm subs you cannot wire them to pull a 2 ohm load. go here: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_c...sp?Q=2&I=42 Quote REFS http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/itrader.php?u=2026 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/44535-official-brewer-brewer-feedback/page__p__625998__hl__brewer__fromsearch__1entry625998 "you're not allowing natural selection to work, you're like the guy that invented the seatbelt"
Team Bass-Hz (Geo)
My friend has a 12 inch orion hcca in her scion hooked up to a modified earthquake shredder (3000 rms at 12.4 volts) and its doing fine. I made the system for a daily setup and the woofer is taking it like nothing. Those woofers could take the 5000rms if you throw them at it. Especially since its a hifonics amp your probably be throwing 4200 watts to it not the full 5000. Quote Team Bass-Hz
