Gregggg Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 I have a Polk audio component speakers in the doors up front (100rms) and Polk audio 3-way speakers in the rear deck (100rms). I need an amp to power them. I was looking at either the Alpine MRP-F600 or the Kicker ZX650.4. I was looking at the Alpine MRP-F600. And I was wondering if anybody has any experience with this amp regarding overheating? I looking at this amp because it is smaller than the Kicker. And I was wondering if anybody had the Kicker ZX650.4 and wanted to know if they had any problems with the amp overheating on them. I know people are probably going to say kicker because they are good amps (and they are) and they put out more than rated but I was mainly looking at overheating with the amps and the size of them. I need to know about overheating because I have to make long drives (8 hour drives) and if I'm going to be playing my music loud on the highway I don't want the amp to overheat and fail on me. And you can always put it under the passenger seat instead of in the trunk Subs are like titties, They need to come in pairs because ones and threes are just wrong, and larger amounts will always draw a crowd, we all have our favorite sizes, but the bigger ones are more fun to watch move. Words to live by.
