stevh0
Steve , big question .. If you had to compare your Ex Civic Setup 18 RF's firing into the cab to the current walled off project . How would u compare the 2 different kind of setups? I think this thread would help a lot of us that want to but who aren't sure if they should wall or not . I really really want to wall 15's (2) but i am not sure if i want to loose the back seats and make the car unpractical , if u know what i mean. and i would assume that the bass hits a lot harder with the woofer right behind your head , but if it is possible to elaborate , as too how much harder it hits that would be great . is it a kind of night and day difference? I want to build something that can be heard miles away , and i believe box placement / design is the 1st step . Alternatively this is what i was thinking fire 2 15inches into the cab . or attempt to make 4 x 12's fire into the cab . and still keep my back seat?! i like my music LOW . body flex turns me on! Help me out please ! *steve
meade916
whatsup man.....i cant give you a real good answer yet since ive only played the system with the wall for a short period of time and not even driving. Just testing in the work area. If i had a choice and the car never got stolen, id probably still have the same setup because to tell you the truth, its NICE to have your car look totally normal on the inside but have 18's in the trunk, even 15's if thats what you can fit. I really only walled it off because the car was stolen and destroyed so i said FUCK IT why not. Once its on the road and the mids and highs all working right, ill let ya know how much i like it.......right now its hard to say. meade916
Thanx bro , btw do u think that the four 12's would run better then the two 15's? hard to say....350" on the 15's verses 450" on the 12's.... your also talking about putting a lot of sub in the trunk and more sub doesnt always mean louder. You still have to do it right. IMO for a honda, in a trunk, you will have better results if you can do the 15's faced forward sealed from the trunk and ported. stevh0
Great ! Thanks I was always under the impression that the more Cone area there is the more air there is to move . and the more air the more sound waves to make alot of noise with Ive also been advised not to tune the box to around 38 as its too low ??!!? Wtf? instead go with a 50hz .. Im in the game to shake everything around me what do u think? ill be running 2 dual 2ohm woofers with a lot of throw! Tune it at the highest to probably 38, if your looking for low bass tuning the box to 50 hz isnt gonna do it. Your subs will just unload on about every rap song ever made. Try like 32-35 hz. Somewhere in there should be a good starting point. How many amps do you plan on running? You said two dual 2 ohms subs so If only one make sure that it is .5 stable or puts out enough power at 2 ohms to power the subs correctly. stevh0
Yeah im going to be running One amp for the start - puts about about 2.5kw @ 10hm ill run the subs at 2ohm , then then drop it down to 1 ohm per coil on the different woofers i have been told only to run .5ohm for burping , so it looks like i need to find another amp. u you guys reckon tuning the box low wont be a bad idea? Btw , the RE XXX series are they any good? i see they have massive excursion ?!? thanx fellas!

When I first started glassing I asked him how strong to mix resin and he told me thaqt it should be smoking before you can start using it. He does know abit about car audio, but I wouldnt trust him with a daily pounder Quote then im rambo bitch
