On most high-power monoblocks they're actually remote gain cuts. You set the gain at the amp with the remote unplugged and then you know that even with the knob full-tilt you'll never exceed it. You set the gain at the amp with the remote unplugged and then you know that even with the knob full-tilt you'll never exceed it. ok... ive only had one bass knob and it was on a bxi608 and it was bass boost.... to set it i turned everything on the amp down and turned the knob all the way up and then started setting the gains on the amp with a dmm.... that way when the knob was all the way down there was no bass....
