FiBTLforlife Posted May 28, 2009 Author Report Posted May 28, 2009 Im trying to figure this out so you can only lose the buy in and buy out charge? Plus the stocks you actually buy? If the stocks go into a negitive do you loose it all? if you buy a stock at $0.05 and u want to buy lets say $100 worth. the stocks goes up like 25% then drops almost 100%..u dont lose all ur money but that $0.05 a share will be very low, like around $0.002 or something...then times this by how many shares u own and thats the money u have. u wont love out completley until the stock goes to $0.0000000000000 and ur out. 2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs 1 3500d AQ amp 146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars
FiBTLforlife Posted May 28, 2009 Author Report Posted May 28, 2009 I still suggest TradeKing.com, with commission charges of 4.95, you only have to gain about 10.00 worth and then you can keep the profits after that, as oppossed to 24.00 commission rates on e-trade but what do they offer in terms of agreements and money?? what is ur money insured up to??? are they good with answering your q's???what is ther interest rate?? do they have an interest rate??? just things to think about... who cares if u pay $24 fees when u make $1,000 2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs 1 3500d AQ amp 146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars
FiBTLforlife Posted May 28, 2009 Author Report Posted May 28, 2009 Its prohibiting you from executing an order for a stock not listed on the exchange. OTC BB and pink sheet stocks are penny stocks and arent listed. if he uses etrade he wont have this problem. etrade his this stock listed and i got 75,000 shares no problem. etrade ftmfw 2 AQ 10'' HDC3 copper subs 1 3500d AQ amp 146.3db on TL with stock electrical in single cab truck at 32hz RESULT: 1st place at comp, 3rd overall out of 20 cars
Torres Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 you guys are throwing out some nice tips. i gotta check into it. then ima try to pick one and buy in small ish. just watch it a little bit and if i see potential profit, BAM! i'm afraid my eyes may turn too green and that will hurt me but ima try to be good about it
datbenz Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 lol man seriously you sound like a dumbass, commission fees are the reason why 90% of the day traders lose. When you buy 60 bucks worth of penny stocks then you have already lost 40% without shit happening. Theres a reason why these stocks are priced low, usually because the company is fundamentally bullshit, not making profit, huge loans etc

datbenz Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Buying a random penny stocks and then PRAYING for them to go up is bullshit. Ask any pro out there and they will suggest to stay away from penny stocks, junk bonds, options, futures. Start learning about fundamental analysis, dont trade, take your time. Intelligent Investor, book by B. Graham, the teacher of Warren Buffett, is a excellent one to start (only 600+ pages )

Texas Tech Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Commission rates matter for me because when i buy in, i plan on buying out the next day after i have profited around 100.00, that is what i shoot for, and doing that once a week, and a 24.00 commission rate will matter. Trade King does have excellent customer service, i actually dont even call them because their chat feature is all i have ever needed and all my questinos become resolves through the chat session. Shoot, I chatted with a tradeking rep for 10 minutes online just asking them basic questions to better understand the trading regulations. Look, I understandFiBTLforLife's goal, and i respect it. You are right. Investing 30 bucks is nothing, and you can sit on it as long as you want because chances are your not going to have to pull that 30 bucks out because you need it the next week. The only question is, how many of those penny stocks are actually successful? for a .0005 stock to even get to .01 is a gain of like 1,000% (dont want to do the math but you understand my point), which is very unlikely, any penny stock increasing at all is very unlikely, the only way i see a penny stock increasing significantly (depends on what the initial price you paid for is) is by the actual company doing something that is seen as extremely significant by the public, and a lot of people buy their stock because of it. From my experience with penny stocks around as low as .005, the trading volume is very miniscule, so the trade price doesnt really fluctuate at all. If it does change it will take a long time, which back to what you said, You are sitting on 30 bucks, so who cares. Baylor University Accounting

I watch about 20-25 stocks, and have become familiar with them and their prices. Of course i took the time to find the right stocks i want to watch. So based on the business cycle, and just the general cycle of the stock market, if your stock goes down one day, it will probably go back up the next. That is of course not always the case, but it is a lot of the time. And if its not the case, within a week it will probably go back up. Of course the market does have significant drops too, which can suck. Correct me if im wrong, but i believe this is the general theory when trade ETF's. The situation im dealing with is I am waiting on BAC to come back up to around 14.20 or something like that. If you really want to day trade, or make a decent profit in less than a week, your going to need some money to play with, no question about it. I am just a 19 guy who goes to school and has a job. I have 2 grand sitting in a savings account and i decided to use it all to trade with. The best profit i can get within 2 days worth is around a 100.00, so thats what i shoot for. Dude, i didnt know anything about the stock market until i took my intro to business class at school and my teacher was also a financial advisor who has an interest with investments and the stock market. We had a class project where we had to pick 5 stocks and invest a fake 100,000.00 in a virtual stock market. I just invested in crap that i knew, RL,CMG,AMR....etc. I ended up profiting 25,000.00 in less than 3 months, so i decided to look into the stock market seriously to learn mroe about it. My teacher told me some crazy fact that like if I (or anyone at my age) were to invest like 4,000 (not necessarily the stock market, but it could work), by the time we are 65 or 70 we will be millionares because the stock market has a trend of 10% return/year, and rule of 72, something or other. But the rule of 72 says something like your investment will double every 7 years (about) at an interest rate of 10%. so your investment will double about 7 times between the age of 20-70. Start out with 2G>4G>16G>32G>64G>128G>256G>512G. With investing 2,000.00 right now by the age of 70 i would have 512,000.00 dollars. Now of course, the market has decreased 50% or so, but shoot, all the more reason to invest now. I wish I had 10,000.00 to invest right now for the long run, and 2,000.00 just to day trade with.
