emperorjj1 Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 sorta... clipping blows speakers because they get more power and but don't necessarily move more so they don't cool any more then the clean signal ultimately it depends on heat so like he said if the thermal limits aren't exceeded the sub wont blow.... easy answer is to control you signal as much as possible and keep your amp and sub rms rating similar and you will be fine. when you get to overpowering a sub as much as the OP you dont even need the signal to be clipped to blow it. but it is possible to be smart and pay attention and run a setup like that for quite some time Quote J.
