Yes and its recommended that you keep the original wire also. If for your amp look for the amount of amps your amp pulls. For your alternator, well how many amps your alt produces. mr.wattz(405) Posted June 4, 2009 Report Share Posted June 4, 2009 What amp are you running? my alt? not sure whatever has been on it but i want to change it any suggestions? i have a 03 jeep grand cherokee with two 12's and 1 1800 watt amp and a 2 fared cap right now im about to be 4 12's and two 1800 watt amps but not sure when should i upgrade my alternator now just to be safe?
