Thanks for the good pics.. I am going to be installing a stereo in our 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo.. and it looks exactly like yours... even the type of interior is the same. I like how clean you did everything and it will pay off in the end. How hard is the center counsel to take out?

Thanks man, clean is the most important thing to me, clean install and clean sound.

The center console is pretty easy to take out, just 5 bolts. But in order to get it out after you get those bolts out, you have to put the gear shifter as far back as possible so you have the clearance to maneuver it up and out of the way. Be careful too, there's a couple plugs that are connected to it underneath, cig lighter, traction control..

so if i was to put 2 6&1/2s behind my pannels will the top ones sound get ubstructed n i only hear the bottom? i wanna run 4 coax in front but dnt really feel like fiber glassing anything if i dont halfto

Not sure bro, I've never had a setup like that so I can't call it.

would it be better to mount the tweet in the middle of the mid or like that for a better sound? i wanna mount my tweets on the dash n have the sound bounce off the windsheld or put em in my air vents n what knot but i unno

You gotta be careful when mounting the tweets so far away from the mids, especially if you're running them off the same xover. It can negatively affect sound imaging if you don't do it right. I believe the general rule of thumb is to keep the tweeter within 12" of the mid. Aiming tweets off the windshield can be tricky, just play around with placement alot until you settle on a location.

okie dokie, and does ur headunit have a pro mode on it? my 860 does, i can go full active with it if i wanted to, theres a switch on the back of it

Well, I thought I was gonna get stuff done today but I've been volunteered to man the grill today at my buddies house. All I was able to get done before having to do my duty was get the subs wired up, solder the wire to the terminals on the box and mount the subs. It's going to be triple digits again here for the next few days so I may hold off until it cools down a bit, and I have company coming over for the weekend, a car detail to do this weekend as well, so unless I decide to say "screw the heat" and just go out there and get it done, probably won't be finished until weekend after next. I'm so close to finishing this build that I have a feeling i'm going to just say eff it and get it done, i'm ready to hear it already!
