siucsaluki11
So if i were to make a box for 2 12s, and i want the port between them but the port is gunna be like 30" long and 4" wide. Its obviously going to have to split when i get close enough to the back wall. How do i calculate the length for this? box will be 4 cubes at 35 hz woman..cant live with em...cant shoot em...guess were all fucked You might be a Redneck if you use your leftover gutters for a speaker box port... bkolfo4
When you T the 4" wide port against the back wall, make each side only 2" wide. The effective length of the port down the center of the box, including the 90 degree bends is roughly equal to the external depth of the box. The remaining length applies to BOTH sides of the T along the rear wall. Example - If you have a box that is 22" deep and you need a port 4" wide and 30" long: Run the center port walls into the box until they are 2" from the back wall. Add an additional port wall on BOTH sides parallel to the back wall, 2" wide x 8" long.
