csills Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 ok so i got a new cd dash kit for my 99 mercury cougar, well the only way to put it back in when the car was turned on and i put it in drive, because the stereo is directly next to my automatic shifter, ok well when i shoved it in there when the car was on, radio was off my whole car shuts off and no power what so ever. i've checked fuses , battery so far but i couldnt find anything wrong. i think it shorted something out. When i turn the key to turn it on the only power is door locks, side view mirror adjuster, and dome light, and parking lights, and anti theft light. i have no clue what to do and i doubt my alt or battery is bad, so idk. plz help me guys 2 JL W7's @ 1.5ohms - SOLD Soundstream PCX2000D - SOLD Yellow top Optima - SOLD Stock Alt 148db @ 36hz
