csills
ok so i got a new cd dash kit for my 99 mercury cougar, well the only way to put it back in when the car was turned on and i put it in drive, because the stereo is directly next to my automatic shifter, ok well when i shoved it in there when the car was on, radio was off my whole car shuts off and no power what so ever. i've checked fuses , battery so far but i couldnt find anything wrong. i think it shorted something out. When i turn the key to turn it on the only power is door locks, side view mirror adjuster, and dome light, and parking lights, and anti theft light. i have no clue what to do and i doubt my alt or battery is bad, so idk. plz help me guys 2 JL W7's @ 1.5ohms - SOLD Soundstream PCX2000D - SOLD Yellow top Optima - SOLD Stock Alt 148db @ 36hz
basshead4life
i cant help u with fixing it but you should have turned the car on, put it in low, shut the car off, disconeceted the battery, and the put the radio in. thats what i did and iv had no problems Team S.M.D. Maritime Car Audio- (2) 18" SSA ZCON D1 - American Bass 500.1 - 60 ft of 3/0 -480 Ah of battery - (2) stock alternators (70 +90) - Kenwood Excelon x-794, 4v preouts car audio is just a LOT more complicated than "this amp does this power" or "this sub will be this loud". its like 2 + 2 = banana.
