97maxima Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 I know its been done. But my guess would be that you strap 4 kinda the same way you strap 2 ?? If you strapped 4 one ohm stable monos youd end up with a final minimum 4 ohm load? If you did it with a maxxlink link 2 amps would be - and 2 would be +? Quote American Bass*DC Power

Got_Bass89 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Maxxlink pretty easy just run the amps seperate off the maxxlink.. HHR Ed Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 it has nothing to do with the maxxlink. strapping 2 mono amps is actually connecting their outputs in series. Most modern mono amps are designed to do that. To strap more than 2, you would need to be able to parallel strap them, something that cannot be done with most mono amps. An amp has to be designed specifically for this. like the JBL Crown A6000GTI. I know someone that built an isolation module to allow multiple MTX1501Ds to be connected in parallel, It connected to the speaker outputs and allowed the output to connect to the load, but not feed back to the other amp. but the high current created burnt the unit. There is no telling what ohm load would be safe, The maxx link is only a signal balancing module and has nothing to do with the output of an amp. Besides, with 15,000w amps, there is no need. I know you are curios and might wanna play around, but it isnt done for a reason. Got_Bass89 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Ya I understand all that.. Didn't know the crown amps could do that tho... Maxxlink is pretty much the only way to go to run multiple 2+ amps Quote Passport Build Here Alarm: Prestige APS997A 2-Way/Remote Start HeadUnit: Pioneer DEH-P6000UB Front Battery: Yellowtop Optima D34/78 Back Battery: 2x C&D Technologies High Rate Series UPS12-475FR 134AH Subs: 2x DC Lv4XL 18's Amps: 2x Sundown Saz1500's Strapped Box: 12Cubes 33hz 185sqin Port(15.4sqin per cube) Pillars: AudioBahn AS31Q Front Doors: Clif Designs TX40.5 Back Doors: Clif Designs CD50.4C Rear Speakers: Clif Designs TX46.5 Front/Rear Amp: Kicker ZX350.4 Back/Pillars Amp: Kicker ZX200.2(Looking for another zx350.4) Electrical: 1/0 Scorpion Wire 2 Runs Pos and 2Runs Ground, Knu 1/0 Flex Running to Amps ect, Big 3, JL 8Ga For Speaker Wire, Knu Karma RCA's, Scorpion Volt Meter Deadener: 100 sqft Sound Destroyer Mat And SECOND SKIN Damplifier Pro Door Pack
HHR Ed Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 well if you have strappable amps, then you dont need any processors, just look at the amps manual. The maxxlink can help balance everything out but you dont need it to do 4 strappable amps to one DVC sub, or 8 strappable amps to one quad coil sub. 97maxima Posted June 27, 2009 Author Report Posted June 27, 2009 hhr- i know the maxxlink controls the signal and has nothing to do with output, you can set both amps with it. ive used one before and feel as tho i have a grasp on that part. at the time the 2 amps i was running were not strappable out of the box as alot of amps are these crunch pzi.3000.1 were not. as far as 2 per coil, that may bethe othe route to take but would the woofer fail. if you did that with a maxxlink youd have 2 pair being controled by the unit but from what ive heard you would not want to run to pair per coil because it would basicly be the same as running say 2 non strappable amps on one woofer, one amp per coil. 2 amps rarely make the same output at a set hz. i see what your saying about the specialy made amps running parrel to achive what i was originaly speaking of Quote American Bass*DC Power
