nope! i have a leveling kit on my Duramax... the keys are re-indexed and it does not change any of the factory geometry. if you have the right guys do it, you wont even need a front end alignment! BTW the reindexed torsion keys are so you DONT have to crank you torsion bars up...

yes, IFS does suck! i would really enjoy some 37's over my dinky 33's...

Not trying to start an argument just from one silverado owner to the next, but its a simple fact that the only way to raise your front end with torsion bars and not a lift kit is to put more of a twist on your torsion bars. This in turn changes the angle of the suspension arms which is what leads to tearing up cv axles etc.... The re-indexed keys are simply so the torsion bolts dont have to be cranked as much to achieve the same amount of twist on the torsion bars to raise the front end the same amount... I know someone who cranked their stock torsion bolts all the way (fuckin dumbasses) and when I told him he was gonna start tearing shit up he went to crank them down and actually sheared off one of the bolt heads so he was SOL for a while... Re-indexed keys simply means less turns of the bolt to achieve the same lift as the stock keys would be if you cranked them many turns, and so you have head room to crank more than the stock keys allow which is a stupid idea... IFS FTL..

how can i lower my 85 s10 blazer that has torsion bar front suspension.

Turn the torsion bolts counterclockwise instead of clockwise like you would to raise it. Still changes camber and you might end up with toe out on the front tires and get bad tire wear on the inside so make sure you plan to get an alignment right after.. Simply put... For lifting or lowering.. Torsion bars suck..

i work the counter at 4wheel parts, i do this kinda thing on the daily... on my truck we removed the factory keys and replaced them with the new reindexed keys from ORU put my truck back on the ground and everything was good camber, caster, and cv angle was the same as stock we didnt even have to do a front end alignment. needless to say i removed the stock size 26575r16's and replaced them with some 28575r16's then i proceeded to back out of the shop loaded up my turbo poored diesel smoke everywhere lit up my brand new rear tires and called it a day! if you ever get a leveling kit that you still have to crank your torsion bars to level your truck take that shit back and get a ORU kit! ;)
