Multiple Amps & Multiple Subs

For those of us who do not have a master/slave option how do you go about correctly setting the gain on both amps so they match?

Could it ever be spot on perfectly correct?

I know there may be a better explanation as to how its done then this one.

another way is using a DMM....just match the Speaker out puts...might not be dead on...from slight differences in the setup..but should be pretty good

using a dmm is not always accurate enough.

Your problem starts when you start using Y splitters on your RCA cords, you will began to lose your signal resulting in your amps needing a higher gain setting to compensate for the loss of signal..

This is really the only time when I line driver comes into play (otherwise they are 100% useless)!! The line driver will boost your rca level higher to give you a matched signal. At best you should make a little junction box that you have your main rca cords from the headunit plug into, then have however many rca outputs wired together in the box so you dont have a Y splitter every few feet.

Your best bet would to go with a Maxxsonics Maxx-Link.

This will allow you to have a common rca voltage thru-out the outputs on the maxxlink, and will allow you to connect up to 5 amps, however you will still have to volt match each amp, but settings should be pretty much the same from amp to amp since your rca signal will not be cut down. The Maxxlink also will act as a line driver.
