I read the tutorial yesterday on how to build one and didn't think it was that hard, so i built this one this morning in my spare time. Took about 2 hours to cut and assemble the box.. After getting it done i put it in a chevy s-10 blazer, with some kind of off brand amp pushing only about 300-400 (sad but that's all he had. Haha..). And with that little power running to it, everything flexes in his truck, and it's loud from 25hz all the way up to 60hz.. I'm very impressed with t-line boxes, and i find them easier to build than just regular ported box.. Haha.. Specs: Fs of a D1 Fi Bl is 35.2 Box "port" is exactly 8.07 feet long with 78 square inches of constant port The sub is inverted because the port is only 6 inches deep and the Fi has a mounting depth of 6.75". Doesn't hurt anything, just makes the box look sexier. Haha.. Now all he needs is to get an amp that'd do 700~900 at 2 ohms.. Does the Kenwood 9104D seem like good amp to get that kind of power out of? 32 ounce drink just chilllin in the port.. Haha.. Tell me what y'all think....

I know the higher the fs, the shorter the length, just don;t know the formula or whatever. Never really figured how big the box was, but just by going off the port which is 6"x13" and times that by the length (96") would be roughly 4.33 cubes. And the port is 6" wide and 13" tall. Teh search is greater than me lol. How do you calculate how long the port has to be? I know the higher the fs, the shorter the length, just don;t know the formula or whatever. Plus, what's the size of that box? The length is calculated by taking 1130 ft/sec (speed of sound) and divide that by the Fs of the sub in question. (For the D1 Bl it was 35.2 hz which i just rounded to 35 hz). Them two number divided equals 32.286 ft. Then you take the quarter wave of that number you just found (just means divide by 4). So if i divide 32.286 by 4 i get 8.07 ft, which is how long my port will be. And i always figure port length in the center of the port, so in this case 3" away from the walls.

I am very shocked at how loud this thing gets for just 300 watts. And my new camera doesn't distort at all with bass, so even though it won't sound like there is anything there, it takes HD videos, so the flex will be brought out very well.Haha..

Also don't foget that your port aera is figured by the area of the sub/s your putting in the box. This is measured by the equation pi x radius x radius. My Bl had a radius of around 5" (the radius is measured from the center of the surround to the center of the dustcap. For me this came out to 78.5 sq. in. but i just rounded it to 78 sq. in. (6X13). Like i originally said, i think a T-Line is a lot easier to build than ported box. Just need the space. Haha.
