Alt voltage

Hi

It starts at 14v+ but makes it way down to 13.6-7 after a while.

I want to put a adjustable regulator (MLA etc) to this to keep it at a steady 15.3v is it possible ?

HO Alts havent been very helpful since I bought the alt from them.

Any help is appreciated.

is it the stock alternator? and i have the MLA on my stock and "200A" alt and in both cases it will start off at that voltage but if its hot outside or im really on the system the voltage stays around 14.6 at idle and 2k rpm

Well keep in mind that as heat rises, you will have voltage drop. I have 2 alts, and the MLA 15.3v module, and 2 rear G31 batts, my voltage on a cold startup is 15.4/15.5 for all of about 5 minutes, then it backs down to 15.2/15.1. On very hard hitting bass that is for example 30 seconds long, my voltage will not drop below 14.7/14.8 @ 15-2k RPM. On very hot days 90+f outside, my idle voltage will be 14.9/14.8, and 14.5/14.6 slammin lows. So my answer and or any help that I can contribute to this thread is this: Yes, of course you can add the MLA module (Actually I highly recommend it, excellent product) and you will only benefit from it.

But would it work as the alt is wired up with a one wire installation and is internally regulated ?
