ok guys, ive decided its time to work on my room a little now. so ive thought about doing a set up that can get pretty low for when i want to listen to my music, and sound good for when i decided to watch a movie in my room. im working with a space of 12x13ft so this set up should sound really good in this space. here is what im going to be doing.

two towers holding 2 10'' dayton subwoofer, 2 tang band mids, and 1 tweeter

center is 4 3'' mids, and 2 tweets

rear is going to be 1 3'' mid in a box. there will be two boxes

and i like to thank krannyman92 for the box design and sketch up for me

nice set up, but I HONESTLY, would do a dipole design

I guarantee you will have better sound, and you will have a slicker design

W-M-T-M-W design will kick ass

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

whats a dipole design? and a W-M-T-M-W design would look cool but its all up to mike. it took us like 3-4 hours to figure everything out up to this point. so we gotta think more about this tomorrow. any advice is welcome

Ive done almost as much home audio as car audio, but I prefer home audio

Dipole designs mix the speakers up to give a more spacial sound, better imaging, more accurate design

What the WMTMW means is

woofer bottom mid, then tweeter, then mid again, then back to woofer at top

I would try this , sit down in your favorite seat in the house, get a tape measure, and measure from the ground to your ear, and start with the tweeter in the dipole design at that height

It sounds almost to much to try that, but the higher frequencies are the hardest to please your ears, and the subsonic of course, but with tweeters, and upper midrange, they are very directional, so basically when you walk away, or turn your head, you really hear the difference.

So to start the whole tower speaker design, based solely where your ears are when you sit down in the room, is a great starting point

this is way over kill, but these speakers are just about the best in the world, and its not because the speakers inside the towers are just about the best, but its the angles, and distances from the speakers to your ears

check out the price, Iam not sure the euro to the dollar, but its way up there- well, I think its $160,000

the advise is great guys bc this is my first home audio build. im still trying to move everything around in my room, take things out and get it to where i know where my towers are going to go. then i will do the measure test for the tweeters. this is in a 12x13ft room, so its not like a big living room where this is going. ill have pics of the room up soon

second design looks good, that open area in the back, perfect spot for the amplifier

Team S.M.D.

Maritime Car Audio- (2) 18" SSA ZCON D1

- American Bass 500.1

- 60 ft of 3/0

-480 Ah of battery

- (2) stock alternators (70 +90)

- Kenwood Excelon x-794, 4v preouts

car audio is just a LOT more complicated than "this amp does this power" or "this sub will be this loud". its like 2 + 2 = banana. (if that confuses you then you get the point) lol
