The blue remote wire going to an amp?

There should be a blue wire coming off your HU harness labeled "remote" or "rem" or something similar.

Or wire it to the batt with a switch if you have a stock HU (I know there are other solutions but I can't think of them right now.)

Basically it sends 12 volts to your amp to tell it to turn on.

EDIT: as for running it, I ran it with my RCA's on the right side of my car under the carpet.

I usually run the remote line with the power lines. It really doesnt matter , just make sure that you run it carefully and securely to avoid it getting damaged (like any other wire that you run in your car...).

i hook all of my remotes to my ignition with a toggle switch inline with it so that anytime my ignition is on the amp is unless i have the toggle switch flipped.
