thehoe92
yes you need to reset the gain. the purpose of the gain is to match the preout voltage of the source Quote Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple
brewer_brewer
yes you need to reset the gain.the purpose of the gain is to match the preout voltage of the source you will get a louder, cleaner sound with the 4v then you did with the 2v. set it up like this is the first time the amp has been installed to match the headunit. good upgrade. thehoe92
technically it won't be louder since the gain will be set for 4v. it will put less stress on the amp and your electrical because you aren't having to crank the gain. I did notice a tighter sound with my increase from 2v to right around 7v Edited July 15, 2009 by thehoe92 Quote Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

thehoe92
true that I guess lol it did SOUND louder to the ear. the main point though is less stress on your amps Quote Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

thehoe92
its a clarion eq that claims 7v but I think that might be max and rms 4v I'm not sure but it made a world of difference Quote Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

Neel
higher the voltage output of your deck = better dynamics + less noise from turning input sensitivity up on the amps. So yes, higher voltage is better. Quote Too Much Stuff to list .
